Adams County:
--At 88th and Colorado (S Platte parking lot) Breitsch reported a
White-throated Sparrow in the SE part of the parking lot on October 16.

Baca County:
--At Two Buttes on October 17, Gillilan reported White-throated Sparrow.

Bent County:
--At Tempel Grove on October 16, Gillilan reported White-throated Sparrow,
Carolina Wren, and imm f Black-throated Blue Warbler.

Boulder County:
--A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was found by Severs at the windbreak of Teller
Farms Parking Lot on October 9.  Kaempfer and Gent refound the sparrow on
October 20.
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Bell on the power line 3.5 miles N of
Boulder off US 36 at S end of 34th Court to the west with Eurasian Collared
Doves on October 19.
 --An imm Harris's Sparrow was reported by Wilberding on the Cradleboard
Trail (Rock Creek Trail) on October 19.
--A Dunlin was found by Mlodinow at Panama Reservoir on October 20.
--A f White-winged Scoter was reported by Mlodinow at Boulder Reservoir on
October 20.  NOTE:  The Boulder Marathon will be held at
 Boulder Reservoir on October 21.

Boulder/Broomfield Counties:
--At Stearns Lake, Zorawowicz reported a Harris's Sparrow on October 16.

El Paso County:
--Pals reported that a White-winged Dove has been in the Pleasant Valley
Neighborhood, just south of Rock Ledge Ranch/Garden of the Gods this week
(October 19).
--An ad m Black-throated Blue Warbler was reported by Farese at Area 1 of
Fountain Creek Regional Park on October 21.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on October 16, Bill Maynard reported
Harris's Sparrow and White-throated Sparrow on the El Paso side and
Rose-breasted Grosbeak at HQ and SEDGE WREN at Upper Twin Pond.
 --At Chico Basin Ranch on October 17, Drummond reported a juv LE CONTE'S
SPARROW at Upper Twin Pond in wet sedge meadow below the dam wall.   On
October 18, Percival relocated the LE CONTE'S SPARROW at Upper Twin Pond.
--At Chico Basin Ranch on October 19, Hinds reported a NELSON'S SPARROW and
Swamp Sparrow at Upper Twin Pond and imm Harris's Sparrow and
White-throated Sparrow at HQ.
--At Chico Basin Ranch on October 20, Percival reported that both the LE
CONTE'S SPARROW and NELSON'S SPARROW were seen by many happy birders at
Upper Twin Pond.
--At Chico Basin Ranch HQ on October 20, Gent reported White-throated
Sparrow, Harris's Sparrow and Fox Sparrow.
--At Chico Basin ranch on October 21, Steve Brown reported that the
NELSON'S SPARROW continues at Upper Twin Pond.

Fremont County:
--An ad m YELLOW-BELLLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Moss at the Abbey in
Canon City on October 16.

Huerfano County:
--An imm Thayer's Gull was reported by Neldner at Lathrop SP on October 20.

Jefferson County:
--An ad GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Henwood at Red Rocks Trading
Post on October 18.

Kit Carson County:
--At Flager SWA on October 16, Gillilan reported 1st winter Harris's
Sparrow, 2 White-throated Sparrows and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
--At Flager SWA on October 21, Huffstater reported a White-eyed Vireo S of
the lake near the RR tracks.
--At Flager SWA on October 21, Walbek reported 2 Harris's Sparrows, Swamp
Sparrow, and White-throated Sparrow.
--At Flager SWA on October 21, Mlodinow reported Chihuahuan Raven.

La Plata County:
--A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Morris at the Durango Fish
Hatchery Pond on October 21.

Larimer County:
--A 1st fall f Black-throated Green Warbler was reported by Leatherman at
Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on October 18 and refound by Leatherman
on October 21.
--A Rusty Blackbird and White-throated Sparrow were reported by Shenot on
the Fort Collins Audubon field trip to Riverbend Ponds/Sharp Point Drive on
October 20.  The Rusty Blackbird was by the first pond on Sharp Point Drive
and the White-throated Sparrow was at the far end of Big Pond (Riverbend
Ponds).
--A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Leatherman in the backyard of
the Bed and  Breakfast across the street from Trolley House on October 21.

Lincoln County:
--At Kinny SWA on October 21, Mlodinow reported SEDGE WREN and Harris's
Sparrow.

Montrose County:
--A Field Sparrow was reported by Dexter SE of Nucla along 29 Rd S of CC Rd
near where Calamity Creek crosses 29 Rd on October 18.

Prowers County:
--At Lamar Community College Woods on October 17, Gillilan reported a pair
of Carolina Wrens.

Pueblo County:
--Off the Sailboard Lauch Area at Pueblo Reservoir on October 17, Percival
reported a Red-necked Grebe with hundreds of large grebes.

Washington County:
--A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Tina Jones at Last Chance on October 18.
--A VARIED THRUSH was reported by Chris Owens on the DFO Field Trip to
Jackson and Prewitt on October 20.  It was 1/4 mile E of the headgate of
the inlet canal on the SW side of Prewitt.

The monthly meeting of Denver Field Ornithologists will be on Monday,
October 22 at the Planetarium of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
 Use the main doors on the north side of the building.  Doors open at 7  pm
and meeting begins at 7:30 pm.  Doors will be closed once the meeting
begins.  Joey Kellner, Glenn Walbek and Norm Erthal will discuss "Other
Creatures Seen While Birding".

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 27 will be to Rocky Mountain
Arsenal led by Dave Rhoades (303-424-8633) to look for warblers,
shorebirds, and hawks and arrivals from high country.  Please contact the
leader if you are planning on attending.  Meet the Leader at 0800 at the
Arsenal Visitor's Center at 64th and Quebec.   Trip will end around 1 pm.
Lunch optional.  This is a space-limited trip so registration with leader
is required.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 28 with be to Walden and Sawhill
Ponds in Boulder led by Paula Hansley (home:  720-890-2628, cell:
303-263-1714).  Meet leader at 0800 at Cottonwood Marsh parking lot at
Walden Ponds on 75th St.  Bird until about 11:00.   Walden is accessed from
a short road which goes west from 75th St, 0.9 miles north of Valmont Road.
 Bring a scope if you have one, along with snack, water, and appropriate
clothing.  No need to worry about changing your clocks since Daylight
savings time ends Nov 4.
