What: Greater Sage Grouse Viewing Tours
When: Several dates between March 18th – April 7th
Where: Departing from Craig, Colorado at 4:30am

Space is limited! Reserve your seat NOW!

The tours offer an opportunity to view imperiled Greater Sage Grouse strutting
their stuff to attract mates.

In 2010, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that the Greater sage
grouse was a candidate for Endangered Species Act protection. Over the past
century, sage grouse populations have declined up to 98% across their native
range. Habitat disturbing activities such as oil and gas development, wildfire,
invasive species infestations and the like have pushed the bird to the brink of
extinction.

Today, Moffat County’s large, unfragmented blocks of sagebrush is home to over
two-thirds of Colorado’s population. While the future of this western icon
seems to be in doubt, there are still opportunities to see it and one of the
wild’s most spectacular mating displays.
