I led a small group from Fort Collins Audubon Society around southeast Larimer County and nearby Weld County today. Highlights were: Baird’s Sandpiper 1 – east Horsetooth gravel pit, Fort Collins (Larimer) Varied Thrush 1 continues – southeast Fort Collins (Larimer; as reported to RBA) Greater Yellowlegs 1 – Windsor Lake (Weld) Thayer’s Gull 1 adult – Windsor Lake (Weld) Red-breasted Merganser 2 males – Windsor Lake (Weld) Red-breasted Merganser 26 males – West Windsor gravel pond (Weld) Red-breasted Merganser 12 males, 1 female – Firestone gravel pit (Weld) Red-necked Grebe 2 continue – Firestone gravel pit (Weld) Trumpeter Swan 1 continues – North Hoffman Lake, Loveland (Larimer) Bohemian Waxwing 60 continue – Simpson Ponds SWA (Larimer) Long-eared Owl 3 continue – private residence, Loveland (Larimer)
