ADAMS COUNTY:
--A Mexican Duck was reported by Sheeter at Veteran's Park in Brighton on
April 18.
--An ad Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Price flying over Brighton across
the interstate from Barr Lake on April 19.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--The Greenwood Village Varied Thrush continues to visit the backyard of
Kirby and Mary Eleanor Cockerham as of April 17.
If you would like to try to see the bird please call the Cockerhams at
303-771-8021 and arrange for a visit.  The best viewing
is from their kitchen from 0730 to 1200 and from 1630 to 1800.
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Kennedy at Cherry Creek SP on
April 18.
--A breeding plumaged Red-throated Loon was reported by Walbek at Cherry
Creek SP on April 19.  It was seen from east shore, mid-lake near the dam.

BENT COUNTY:
--A breeding plumaged NEOTROPIC CORMORANT was reported by Duane Nelson on
the S side of John Martin Reservoir about 1/4 mile W of the dam on April 17.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--A Glossy Ibis was reported by Dowell on the NW side of Boulder Reservoir
on April 16.
--On April 16, Kaempfer reported a great Longspur find on Oxford Rd between
115th and 119th.  He reported 60 McCown's,
12 Chestnut-collared, 1-2 Lapland, and 1 SMITH'S.  On April 17, Deininger
reported Chestnut-collared, Lapland, and McCown's Longspurs on 115th.
 Waltman reported 100+ Chesnut-collared and 100+ McCown's Longspur in East
Boulder County on April 17.
On April 18, Waltman report the 3 species of longspurs on 115th S of Oxford
and Hansley reported 3 species of longspurs, some
on 115th and some on Oxford E of 115th.
--On April 17, Guarente reported 7 McCown's, 1 Chestnut-collared, and 1
Lapland Longspur at the intersection of Woodland Road and N 87th St. which
is N of Longmont.
--A Chestnut-collared Longspur was reported  by Floyd at Greenlee Preserve
in Lafayette on April 17.

DELTA COUNTY:
--A Little Blue Heron was reported by Galinat on the W shore of Hart's
Basin on April 17.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--On April 17, Kellner reported 9 McCown's and 1 Lapland Longspur on the
road to Plum Creek Nature Area and 1 Rusty Blackbird at the base of the
marina sandspit -- east of the marina.  On April 18 at Chatfield, Walbek
reported 18 McCown's Longspurs, 4 Lapland Longspurs, 1 Chestnut-collared
Longspur, and a Broad-winged Hawk.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--A pair of Rufous-crowned Sparrows was reported by Pals at the Tunnel
Drive Trailhead in Canon City on April 14.

HUERFANO COUNTY:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Nunes on the W side of Martin Lake in
Lathrop SP on April 14.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at the Red Rocks Trading Post, first reported
by Henwood on October 26, was seen again on April 18 by Henwood.
--On April 18, Henwood reported that the "Slate-colored" Fox Sparrow was
seen at Red Rocks Trading Post.
--A F Rose-breasted Grosbeak was reported by Bob Santangelo of Wheat Ridge
Redpoll fame on April 18. The grosbeak
has been visiting the same feeders as the redpolls did, but she is very
skittish so patience is required to see her.
His address is 3525 Estes.  Please do NOT park in the driveway, but it is
okay to park in front of the driveway and get out of cars to see the
feeders.
--2 Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Madsen over the Dinosaur Ridge Hawk
Watch on April 19.


LARIMER COUNTY:
--50+ Bohemian Waxwings were reported by Adam Johnson on The Oval at
Colorado State University in Fort Collins on April 10.  On April 12, Shade
reported several flocks of Bohemian Waxwings visiting the north end of The
Oval on the edge of CSU campus.  There is a berry tree with fruit on the NW
corner of Laurel and Howe which is attracting the birds.  On April 17,
Komar reported that Bohemian Waxwings continue to visit the CSU campus.
--At Horseshoe Lake on April 13, Komar reported 4 subad Lesser Black-backed
Gulls from the W side neighborhood.  On April 14, Komar reported 1-st cyc
Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull at Horseshoe Lake.  At
Horseshoe Lake on April 17, Komar reported 4-th cyc Great Black-backed
Gull, Caspian Tern, 2-nd cyc Mew Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1
4-th-cyc, 1 1-st cyc), and an imm Thayer's Gull.
--At Timnath Reservoir  from W side public park on April 13, Komar reported
Caspian Tern, 1-st cyc Lesser  Black-backed Gull,
3-rd cyc Thayer's Gull and ad F Barrow's Goldeneye.  On April 14,
Leatherman refound the Caspian Tern at Timnath Reservoir from the S side
public parking area.
--A McCown's Longspur was reported by Sheeter at Boyd Lake SP on April 16.
--3 McCown's Longspurs were reported by Joel Such on Blue Mountain Road
between Colard Lane and Spring Gulch Drive on April 17.  Blue Mountain Road
is NW of Lyons
--An ad light morph Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Sparks about 100 ft W
of Lee Martinez Park and the Poudre  Bike Trail intersection on April 18.
 A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Bosley at Lee Martinez Park between
the parking lot off Cherry and footbridge across the Poudre on April 19.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
--A Snowy Plover was reported by Dexter at Nucla Town Reservoir on April 14.
--A first summer M Indigo Bunting was reported by Dexter in Nucla on April
18.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A Mexican Duck first reported on April 7 at Pueblo City Park was found by
Percival along the Arksansas River near the Fish Hatchery Ponds below
Pueblo Reservoir dam on April 15.
--A M McCown's Longspur was reported by Percival along W Fishing Road at
Pueblo Reservoir on April 18

ROUTT COUNTY:
--A pair of McCown's Longspurs was reported by Dodson on Steamboat Dr in
Steamboat Springs on April 17.

WELD COUNTY:
--2 Red-necked Grebes were reported by Sheeter at Firestone Gravel Pits on
the pond closest to Hwy 119 on March 1.  Mlodinow refound the 2 grebes on
April 14 in breeding plumage.
--At Stewart's Pond (Private Property) on  CR 46 just east of CR 37,
Mlodinow reported a flyover NEOTROPIC CORMORANT on April 14.
--At Loloff Reservoir on April 14, Mlodinow reported a f Mexican Duck.
--A Dunlin was reported by Tom and Mary France at Beebe Draw on April 14.
--A 2nd-cyc Glaucous Gull was reported by Leatherman at Windsor Lake on
April 14.
--A Caspian Tern was reported by Leatherman at Windsor Lake on April 16.
--Chestnut-collared and McCown's Longspurs were reported by Lefto on Hwy 85
between Nunn and Ault on April 18.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, April 20 will be to Denver City Park led
by Chuck Hundertmark (303-604-0531).  Meet the leader at 0700 at the
parking strip SE of 22nd Ave just north of Ferril Lake.  From Colorado
 Blvd, turn west onto 22nd Ave, and go past the Museum of Nature and
Science.  Turn left just before the Zoo at the sign to the Pavilion
Bandstand.  Park on the left at the end of the parking area closest to
Ferril Lake.  Will Photograph and observe early nesting behavior of
Double-crested Cormorants, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Snowy Egrets on
Ferril and Duck Lakes.  For SLR's a 300 mm lens or better is recommended.
 Will walk the park for migrant and early nesters,  Bring water, snacks,
binocs, camera, optional tripod and scopes.  Half day trip.  Limit of 10
participants so call or email leader if you plan to attend.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, April 21 will be to South Platte Park led by
Dick Anderson,(303-757-4582).  Meet the leader at 0800 at the parking lot
at the Carson Nature Center.  The Nature Center is behind the Aspen Grove
Shopping Center on Santa Fe.  Go west on Mineral from Santa Fe to the first
light and turn north off Mineral onto South Platte Parkway.  Go past the
RTD overflow parking on your left, turn left into the Nature Center on
Carson Way.  Should finish about 11.  Bring Water, binoculars and a scope
if you have one.  Dress for variable weather.
