A Red-eyed Vireo has been singing for more than a half hour behind my home.
It is staying high in the willows along an irrigation ditch. Can be seen
from a trail that runs east from 95th street between the Blue Heron and
Heron Lake Meadows subdivisions. The trail is most easily accessed by
driving east on Lake Meadow Drive (the last street on the east side of 95th
before leaving the Lafayette city limits). Just before the cul de sac at
the end of Lake Meadow Drive, there is a trail entrance on the south side
of the street. Walk the trail to the T intersection and take the trail
right between the subdivisions. The vireo has been singing about 1 block
west of the T.
