Barr Lake is being allowed to fill, so the water is rising and there are
lots of birds in close - between our banding station duties, we picked out
Widgeons, Coots (LOTS), Green and Blue Wing Teals, Pintails, Shovelers,
Western Grebes, various Gulls, Pelicans, etc, plus Bald Eagles, a Red-tailed
Hawk and a Northern Harrier. The 7 a.m. birding hike tomorrow morning, led
by Greg Miller, could be great! Then, you can warm up back at the Old Stone
House while participating in Noppadol Paothong's photography workshop. His
presentation last night at DMNS on his award-winning work photographing
grassland grouse was fascinating. These and other events are part of RMBO
annual picnic - get all the details at www.rmbo.org.

Banding station is open Sat and Sun, then closed Mon. Then, open Tues
through Sun, weather permitting, for our last week of fall banding.
