ADAMS COUNTY:
--A Western Palm Warbler was banded by McBurnery at the RMBO Barr Banding
Station on October 9.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--A second year YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was found by Lafreniere on
October 5 at a small marsh/pond on Birdsall Road and refound by Hinds on
October 6.  Directions:  Take I-25 to Exit 122 (Chico Basin Exit), then
head north on Old Pueblo Road about 3 miles to Birdsall Road.  Stay on Old
Pueblo Road, do not turn and head towards Chico Basin.  Birdsall dead ends
at a Private Ranch.  The pond is on the north side of the road and right
next to the road.  The pond is on private property but can be viewed from
the road.  On October 8, the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was reported by
Dowell and Kibbe.  On October 9, the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT HERON was
reported by Koehn, Elwonger, and Drummond.  On October 11, Nikolai reported
that the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON continues on Birdsall Road.  On October
13, Kingswood reported that the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT HERON continues on
Birdsall Road.  On October 14, Goff reported that the YELLOW-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON continues on Birdsall Road.
--At Big Johnson on October 14, Goff reported Pacific Loon and Sabine's
Gull.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--An ad Lesser Black-backed Gull and juv Sabine's Gull were reported by
Kellner during the Big Sit at Chatfield SP on October 13.
--On October 16, Walbek reported a juv POMARINE JAEGER and RED PHALAROPE at
Chatfield SP.

EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES:  At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area)
--Percival reported a SEDGE WREN and Swamp Sparrow on the Pueblo side of
Chico Basin Ranch and a Winter Wren on the El Paso side on October 12.

HUERFANCO COUNTY:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Neldner at Lathrop SP at the
Children's Fishing Pond on October 16.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
--At the golf course in Flager on October 13, Peterson reported 1 Sedge
Wren on the S side of a pond at the east end and 1 Swamp Sparrow.
--At Flager SWA on October 13, Peterson reported American Golden-Plover,
Eastern Phoebe, heard SEDGE WREN, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, White-throated
Sparrow and m PURPLE FINCH.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--A CAPE MAY WARBLER was reported by Leatherman in Grandview Cemetery on
October 7.  The bird was near Hackberry Trees in the ne corner of Section
E.  The CAPE MAY WARBLER was refound by Derek Hill on October 8.  The CAPE
MAY WARBLER was reported by David Wade in section J of Grandview on October
10.  Bruening reported the CAPE MAY WARBLER at Grandview on October 12.
--4 Surf Scoters were reported by Kibbe at Timnath Reservoir on October 12.
--At Timnath Reservoir on October 16, Leatherman reported 6 imm Surf
Scoters and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1ad, 1 2nd or 3rd year)

LOGAN/PHILLIPS COUNTIES:
--2 Surf Scoters were reported by Kaempfer at Jumbo/Red Lion off shore of
shoreline Sedgwick Campground on October 13.

MORGAN COUNTY:
--At Jackson SP on October 9 Lewis reported a couple of American Golden
Plovers and Mlodinow reported WOOD THRUSH, Chestnut-sided Warbler,
Ovenbird, and Harris's Sparrow.
--At Jackson SP on October 12, Komar reported American Golden-Plover, 6
White-throated Sparrows, and
heard a SPRAGUE'S PIPIT.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--The LAUGHING GULL first reported by Percival was seen again on October 13
on W Fishing Road by Kingswood.
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Percival at Pueblo Reservoir on the
Sailboard Road on October 15.
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Silverman at Lake Beckwith in Colorado City
on October 16.
--At Pueblo Reservoir on October 16, Percival reported 5 fem type Surf
Scoters.

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
--A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Kellner at the Town Park in
Cope with a flock of Yellow-rumps and a White-throated Sparrow was in brush
just east of the park on October 11.

WELD COUNTY:
--A Red Fox Sparrow, imm Chestnut-sided Warbler, and White-throated Sparrow
were reported by Dowell at Crow Valley Campground on October 10.  On
October 13, Dowell reported a Swamp Sparrow in the SW corner of Crow Valley
CP.
--Dowell reported a Black-and-white Warbler in the cemetery E of Eaton on
October 13.

YUMA COUNTY:
--At a shelterbelt at CR 30 and CR X, Kaempfer reported 3 Field Sparrows on
October 12.
--At Sand Sage SWA, Kaempfer reported 2 Harris's Sparrows on October 12.

DFO Field Trips:
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 19 will be to Cherry Creek State
Park led by Mary Keithler (303-771-1421).  Meet the leader at the west
marina at 0800.  Bird until noon.  Be prepared to walk up to 2 miles.
 Bring binocs, scopes, water, and dress for predicted weather.  Call leader
if you have questions.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 20 will be to Jackson and Prewitt
Reservoirs led by Chris Owens (303-772-6048 chistiel AT q.com).  Call or
email to reserve a place on the trip.  Limited to 10 participants.  Meet
the leader at 0700 at the Park-n-Ride on the SW corner of Hwy 287 and Niwot
Road.  This is approximately 1 mile north of the intersection of Highway
287 and 52.  Participants need an annual SWA permit per person and a State
Parks Pass.  This will be an all-day trip so be sure to brng lunch, snacks,
water, good walking shoes, and appropriate clothing for the weather
forecast.
