I don't know if this is noteworthy but all week we have had a meadowlark in the bare grass below the sunflower seed feeder both in the evening after all the other birds have left and also in the morning. It is starting to yellow up on its belly. During the minus temperatures he looked like a ball of feathers hovering close to the ground. We have never had a meadowlark at our feeders, and I suspect that he was taking advantage of the thin snow cover made by the many doves, juncos, tree sparrows, and red winged black birds we have coming. Today was our first robin all winter. And a sharp shinned hawk came by today too. Libby Edwards NW Fort Collins
