Take the trail going SE along the levee. BENT COUNTY: --Duane Nelson reported that Piping Plovers have returned to their nesting habitat at John Martin Reservoir on April 12. If you would like to try to see the birds contact Duane at dnelson1 AT centurytel.net. --A m Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Duane Nelson at Tempel Grove and a pair of Eastern Phoebes were building a nest under the bridge on CR 35 on April 15. BOULDER COUNTY: --Severs reported that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues at the Teller Farm Parking lot by the windbreak on March 27. On April 10, Waltman reported that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues at the windbreak by the Teller Farm Parking Lot. --A singing male Rusty Blackbird was reported by Dowell at Walden/Sawhill in Boulder on April 9. --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Waltman on the CU East Campus in Boulder on April 10 and by Moore on April 12. --On April 10, Nunes reported that the male Northern Cardinal was singing in the area beyond the end of Hawthorn in Boulder. --A singing White-winged Dove was reported by Pieplow in the NW corner of Gunbarrel Commons Park on April 11. --A singing White-winged Dove was reported by DeFonso at 4th and Cedar on April 11. --A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Floyd in Boulder near the intersection of 28th and Iris on April 14. CHAFFEE COUNTY: --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Norbu at Sands Lake SWA in Salida on April 11. DELTA COUNTY: --Garrison reported that the Harris's Sparrow continues to visit the feeder at the FS office in Paonia on April 14 and April 15. DENVER COUNTY: --A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Tina Jones at Marston Reservoir on April 11. EAGLE COUNTY: --A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes and a singing Fox Sparrow were reported by Filby on the Frying Pan River near Basalt on April 11. --Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby on Spring Park Reservoir on April 16. EL PASO COUNTY: --A Curve-billed Thrasher was reported by Drummond by the banding station at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on April 11. --A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Stuart at the banding station at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on April 13. On April 14, Maynard, Percival, and Walbek refound the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER by the banding station at Chico Basin Ranch. On April 16 Goff reported that the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER continues by the banding station at Chico Basin Ranch. --At Big Johnson on April 14, Mark Peterson reported 2-nd cyc Glaucous Gull, 3-rd cyc Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull. --A Northern Parula was reported by Tyler Stuart along the creek on the south side of Sinton Pond in Colorado Springs on April 15. On April 16, Taylor reported that the Northern Parula continues by the creek by Sinton Pond. On April 17, Chartier reported the Northern Parula at Sinton Pond but it is moving aound. --An ad m Rusty Blackbird was reported by Drummond at Sinton Pond on April 17. FREMONT COUNTY: --A GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Moss in Florence on April 12. On April 15 Moss reported that the GLOSSY IBIS continues in the flooded fields in Florence. HUERFANO COUNTY: --A SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported by Farese on a fence east of Walsenburg on CO 10 on April 11. JEFFERSON COUNTY: --A Slate-colored Fox Sparrow and GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW were reported by Henwood at Red Rocks Trading Post on April 5. On April 12, Shade reported that the DFO field trip saw GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and Slate-colored Fox Sparrow at Red Rocks Trading Post. LA PLATA COUNTY: --At Vallecito Reservoir on April 14, Mlodinow reported 4 f-type White-winged Scoters and 2 pairs of Barrow's Goldeneyes. LARIMER COUNTY: --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Evers on the Loveland Recreation Trail near the dam on the Big Thompson on April 3. On April 11, Coley reported a pair of Eastern Phoebes by the dam on the Loveland Recreation Trail. --4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were reported by Komar at Horseshoe Lake in NE Loveland on April 12. Best viewing spot is at the east end of Engelman Place off of Monroe. --A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Biggerstaff at Pine Ridge Nathrual Area/Dixon Reservoir on April 17. --A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Lutomski at Cottonwood Hollow/Running Deer Natural Area on April 17. LOGAN COUNTY: --At Red Lion SWA in a marsh below "Little Jumbo", Kaempfer reported White-throated Sparrow and Field Sparrow on April 12. MESA COUNTY: --A Black Phoebe was reported by Stigen on the Audubon Trail in Grand Junction on April 14. MONTEZUMA COUNTY: --2 pair of Lucy's Warblers were reported by Mlodinow in Yellowjacket Canyon on April 15. --Along CR G a singing Lucy's Warbler, Chukar, and Canyon Towhee were reported by Mlodinow on April 15. PITKIN COUNTY: --A Fox Sparrow was reported by Filby at Snowmass Village on April 11. PUEBLO COUNTY: --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival on the Arkansas River below Pueblo City Park on April 12. --At Valco Ponds on April 12, Percival reported Harris's Sparrow and Eastern Phoebe (east of Parking Lot). --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival at Valco Ponds W of the parking lot on April 17. --2 Eastern Phoebes were reported by Percival in Rock Canyon at the east end of Osprey Picnic Area on April 17. WELD COUNTY: --An ad male Swamp Sparrow was reported by Kaempfer at a shelter belt at the west edge of North Star Reservoir on April 13. The reservoir is at the intersection of CR 8 and 19. DFO Field Trips: The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, April 19 will be to Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR led by David Rhoades (303-424-8633). Meet the leader at 0800 and bird until 1300.
