Hi, Cobirders.

Today 8 of us had a great time birding at Adams Open Space, Birdsall Road, and
Shumway Road – all in the area or Fountain, CO, in El Paso County. We had a
total of about 50 species. Highlights included Indigo Bunting, several singing
Chats, a total of 8 Mississippi Kites and beautiful summer weather.

We saw two Mississippi (I love typing that word) Kites chasing a Golden Eagle.
My goodness, they looked small next to the eagle. Several Great-tailed Grackles
on Birdsall Road as well as two Canyon Towhees.

We went to Shumway Road to try to find the Dickcissel, but we were shut out.

Let’s Go Birding!
