Hi COBirders,

I stopped by some of the open-water spots around Colo Spgs on a warm and calm
day today. Big Johnson was 100% open, but the birds were WAY out there. Best
birds (for me) were the previously mentioned White-winged Scoters (near the
dam, in the corner), a female LONG-TAILED DUCK, Clark's and Western Grebes,
Canvasback, and lots of Bufflehead, Hooded Mergansers, and Com Goldeneye. Near
the dam also were an adult Bald Eagle, and a male N Harrier.
(Lots of white-faced geese, too, many with what appeared to be tiny bills.)

Guess we'll see what transpires after the front arrives tonight.
Good birding,
Steve Brown
