--A Snow Bunting was reported by Kilpatrick at 96th and Tower Road on
January 2.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--On January 4, Rutherford reported Lapland, Chestnut-collared and McCown's
Longsspurs N of Deer Trail between 3019 and 3071 South Prince Road.  On
January 5, Suddjian reported Lapland, Chestnut-collared and McCown's
Longspurs and a Snow Bunting on South Prince Road N of Deer Trail.  On
January 11, Goldthwait reported Chestnut-collared Longspur between 642 and
776 S Prince Road.
--A male Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Hopping at South Platte Park on
January 6.
--On January 9 at South Platte Reservoir, Suddjian reported Lesser
Black-backed Gull, Thayer's Gull and Glaucous Gull and 2 m Barrow's
Goldeneyes.

BACA COUNTY:
--300+ Lapland Longspurs were reported by Leatherman on CR UU w of CR 37 NW
of of town of Two  Butte on January 6.
--A m Rusty Blackback was reported by Leatherman below the dam (east ) of
Two Buttes Res on January 6.
--At Cottonwood Canyon (January 3-9)  Leatherman reported Canyon Wrens and
Bewick's Wren.
--At Carrizo Canyon (January 3 -9) Leatherman reported Bewick's Wren.

BENT/KIOWA COUNTIES:
--At Adobe Creek Reservoir on January 2, Duane Nelson reported 2 Rusty
Blackbirds from dam at outlet.  Drive W on Bent CR UU from CR 10 until you
get to spillway.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--On January 1, Gent reported Golden-crowned Sparrow at Teller Farms
parking lot. On January 5, Dowell and Moore reported Golden-crowned Sparrow
at Teller Farms parking lot.  On January 11, Floyd reported Golden-crowned
Sparrow at Teller Farms parking lot.
--A Tundra Swan was spotted by Bob Spencer Jr on January 1 at the Valmont
Complex.  On January 2, Mlodinow reporte juv Tundra Swan at Valmont.  On
January 10, Steadman reported Tundra Swan at Valmont Complex.

DELTA COUNTY:
--1 Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Filby at Confluence Park on January
4.

DENVER COUNTY:
--2 Lapland Longspurs were reported by Kibbe at Gun Club Road south of E
112th Ave on January 4.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--An ACORN WOODPECKER was reported by Peterson at Cheyenne Blvd in Colorado
Springs on January 2.

ACORN WOODPECKER in Willow Circle neighborhood of Colorado Springs.  On
January 5, Koehn Reported ACORN WOODPECKER in Willow Circle neighborhood.
On January 6, Brobin and Goff reported ACORN WOODPECKER in Willow Circle
neighborhood.
On January 9, Nick Moore reported ACORN WOODPECKER in Ridgeway neighborhood
of Colorado Springs.  On January 10, Tonnessen reported ACORN WOODPECKER in
Willow Circle neighborhood.
--A Chihuahuan Raven was reported by Peterson and Walbek in Colorado
Springs along 26800 - 29024 Myers Road on January 4.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--A pair of Greater Roadrunners was reported by Moss south of Canon City in
Cholla grassland on January 4.  They were seen along CR 77 near the
intersection of Chandler Road.
--A PACIFIC WREN was reported by Percival on the Canon City River Walk.
Park at Raynolds Ave. Walk theicy bluff trail past 3/4 mile marker.  Listen
for it calling on the south side of trail about 50 yards west of the 3/4
mile marker.  Percival reported that Denver birds saw and heard a Winter
Wren along the River Walk.  Drummond reported Winter Wren and Pacific Wren
along Canon City River Walk.  Chartier and Mark Miller reported PACIFIC
WREN on Canon City RIver Walk on January 11.
--Drummond reported Rufous-crowned Sparrow at Tunnel Drive close to the
path around the sub-station on January 10.  On January 11, Chartier
reported Canyon Wren at Tunnel Drive.  On January 11, Mark Miller reported
Rufous-crowned Sparrow and Canyon Wren and heard a ROCK WREN at Tunnel
Drive.
--Percival reported Black Phoebe at Florence River Park.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
--5 Barrow's Goldeneyes (3m, 2f) were reported by Dahl on the Colorado
River along Deveraux Rd between the two I-70 exits on January 5.

GRAND COUNTY:
--Gray-crowned and Brown-capped Rosy-Finches were reported by Bob & Jan
Hughes in the Sunset Ridge Subdivision in Tabernash on January 9.  They
also have a nice collect of high-altitude birds at their feeders.  If you
would like to try for the birds their address is 168 Sunset Drive and email

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--On January 4 Kellner reported Golden-crowned Sparrow and Gray-crowned
Rosy-Finch at Red Rocks Trading Post.  On January 7, Chavez reported
Golden-crowned Sparrow and Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch at Red Rocks Trading
Post.  On January 9, Kilpatrick reported Golden-crowned Sparrow at Red
Rocks Trading Post and Suddjian  reported 3 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches  On
January 11, Moore and Riffe reported Golden-crowned Sparrow at Red Rocks
Trading Post.
--Ira Sanders reported Gray-crowned and Black Rosy-Finches coming to his
front yard at 314 DeFrance Ct in Golden on December 29.  Birders are
welcome to watch from the street.  On Janurary 10, Kaempfer reported
Gray-crowned and Brown-capped Rosy-Finches at the Sanders feeders.  On
January 11, Riffe reported Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches at Sanders feeders.
--On January 4, Schottler reported a Pine Warbler at Denver West Office
Park near the SE corner of bldg 7.  On January 6, Suddjian reported Pine
Warbler at Denver West Office Park.  On January 7, Roller reported Pine
Warbler at Denver West.  On January 8, Clark reported Pine Warbler at
Denver West Office Park.
--On January 4 at Apex Park, Elliott Gordon reported all three specied of
Rosy-Finches.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--On January 3 at Livermore Community Church, Komar reported 6 Gray-crowned
Rosy-Finches and a f PURPLE FINCH at the feeders and a Lapland Longspur on
the driveway.  On January 4, Komar reported Lapland Longspur at Livermore
Community Church.

LOGAN COUNTY:
--An EASTERN TOWHEE was reported by Larson at Tamarack Ranch on January 3.

PARK COUNTY:
--4 White-winged Crossbills were reported by Suddjian at Alma on January 9.

PROWERS COUNTY:
--Lapland Longspurs were reported by Leatherman on CR 19 and CR 21 south of
Carlton on January 6.
--A male Ladder-backed Woodpecker was reported by Leatherman in roadside
cottonwood on CR 21 at a drainage just north of J Rd on January 6.
--A PURPLE FINCH has been visiting the feeder of Janeal Thompson in Lamar.
Most recently on January 10.

--At Lamar Community College Woods (January 3-9) Leatherman reported 3
Northern Cardinals (2m, 1f) and a Red-bellied Woodpecker.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
-On January 2 at Pueblo Reservoir, Percival report 1 m Long-tailed Duck,
pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes, 1 ad Thayer's Gull, 4 Lesser Black-backed
Gulls, and 1 ad Glaucous Gull.  On January 5, Duane Nelson reported
Red-throated Loon at Sailboard Launch Area of Pueblo Reservoir.  On January
6, Percival reported Long-tailed Ducks and Barrow's Goldeneyes at Pueblo
Reservoir.  On January 8, Percival reported 1 Red-throated Loon, fem-type
White-winged Scoter, 3 ad Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 ad Great
Black-backed Gull, and 1 juv Thayer's Gull.   On January 9, Riffe reported
the following at Pueblo Reservoir:  Red-throated Loon, White-winged Scoter,
and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.  On January 10, Percival reported 1
Red-throated Loon, 1 White-winged Scoter, 3 Long-tailed Ducks (2f, 1m)
Barrow's Goldeneyes, 1 ad Great Black-backed Gull 3 ad Lesser Black-backed
Gulls at Pueblo Reservoir.
--On January 3, Percival reported 2 ACORN WOODPECKERS at Pueblo Mountain
Park at the Horseshoe Lodge Parking Area.

SUMMIT COUNTY:
--On January 5, Warneke reported 25  Barrow's Goldeneyes at the Wastewater
Treatment Plant in Silverthorne.

TELLER COUNTY:
--On January 5, Duane Nelson reported all 3 species of Rosy-Finches
including at least 10 Black in Victor.  They were visiting a feeder on the
north side of the northermost street.
--ON January 7, Elwonger reported a mixed flock of all 3 species of
Rosy-Finches at Mueller SP (fee area).  They were along the entance road
east of Dragonfly Parking Lot.

WELD COUNTY:
--Gray-crowned and Hepburn's Rosy-Finches, 2 Snow  Buntings, and
Sharp-tailed Grouse were reported by Mlodinow at CR 128 and CR 111 south on
January 4.
--Gray-crowned and Hepburn's Rosy-Finches were reported by Mlodinow at CR
124 and CR 111 near Grover on January 4.
--On January 3, Lefko reported Lapland Longspurs on CR 100 between CR 23
and CR 27 and at CR 33 .5 m S of CR 100.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, January 17 will be to Chatfield SP led by
Ed Holub (edmund.holub AT gmail.com 303-979-2194)  Meet the leader at 0800
inside west entrance of park off S Wadsworth, 1.5 miles south of C-470.  A
half day traipse around Chatfield looking for winter residents.  Bring
binocs, scopes, water, snacks, and dress for predicted weather.  State
Parks pass required.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, January 18 will be to Barr Lake SP led by
Chuck Hundertmark (chundertmark8 AT gmail.com, 303-604-0531).  Meet the
leader at 0800 at parking lot at the south end of Lark Bunting Lane (NOTE:
 this is not the usual Barr Lake SP meeting place)>  From Bromley Lane
exist off i-76, drive east on E 152 Ave across the railroad tracks and take
an immediate right onto Lark Bunting Lane, State Parks pass or day pass
required.
