The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO) and Denver Museum of Nature and
Science are offering a birding field trip in western Colorado June 12th
through 15th 2015. Norm Lewis and I will be lead this field trip that will
begin and end in Gunnison, Colorado. We will visit Canyon of the Ancients
National Monument, Black Canyon National Park, and the Uncompahgre Plateau.
All proceeds will go toward funding RMBO citizen science projects (Dinosaur
Ridge Hawkwatch, Project Colonywatch, Bald Eagle Nestwatch, and Black Swift
research). Target species for the trip include Flammulated Owl, Lewis’s
Woodpecker, Gray Flycatcher, Gray Vireo, Pinyon Jay, Purple Martin,
Bewick’s Wren, Lucy’s Warbler, Black-throated Gray Warbler, Grace’s
Warbler, and Fox Sparrow. The cost of the field trip includes lodging and
meals.
