Hi Cobirders,

Last night just before dark I heard the unmistakable call of a Common Poorwill for a few minutes at my home in SE Ft. Collins. It was so close and loud, we first heard it inside the house! Although I've seen/photographed them here before, this was the first time I've heard one calling out of its normal breeding range - a real treat. Here is a link to a 2005 photo (from the CFO website/ Birding Resources/Links to Information for Birders/ Colorado Bird Photos by various photographers - courtesy of Rachel Hopper) .
