We were never able to see it but the Black-billed Cuckoo called, and called and called from 5:00 to about 8:45 am. We were able to track down the Yellow-billed Cuckoo that started calling shortly after 9:00 am. It finally hopped out into the open to catch a nice big caterpillar...yum...caterpillar...it's what's for breakfast....
While Black-billed was heard briefly again around 3:30, we did not hear the Yellow-billed Cuckoo again today. It will be interesting to see what happens with both species in the yard...
