Steve Kingswood and I were able to see the stunning male Anna's today the
8th within 5 seconds at Paul Tennery's feeders in Las Animas County. It
took two hours to see the pair of Hepatic Tanagers between mile markers 64
and 65 on Colorado 12. There is a long dip in the road between two cuts.
The birds were at last seen crossing the road three times at the east end
of the "dip." Each time they flew deep into the forest but we were
eventually to see the male clearly in the open.

We also saw 12 Band-tailed Pigeons on telephone wires as we drove back on
Widow Woman Canyon Road.
