There is a race going on tomorrow from Pueblo City Park to the Rock Canyon side
of the Arkansas River, below Pueblo Reservoir dam, so that road that goes into
Rock Canyon suppose to be closed until the race is over, which is like 2:30pm.
I know people are coming to Pueblo tomorrow, to bird the Arkansas River, so I
thought I'd post this information.  I know people can park at Valco Ponds
parking lot, remember to keep valuables hidden at this parking lot and any
parking lot really around Valco/Rock Canyon area.  This is the closest parking
lot to most of the birds anyway.
I got a report from today (4 December) from one birder, that a Rusty Blackbird,
a Winter Wren, a Black Phoebe, two Greater Scaup were seen around Valco Ponds
parking lot and east to Valco Ponds #3.  This birder didn't see White-throated
Swifts, Swamp Sparrow, Blue-winged Teal (which are more likely west of Valco
Ponds parking lot), and Mew Gull today.  I don't know if anyone else birded the
river today.
I heard that a Greater Roadrunner was seen in the NE Corner of Pueblo Reservoir
this other day.
Good birding,
Brandon PercivalPueblo West, CO
