COBirders,
As expected, the deep snow in this area has concentrated the Fountain Creek Regional Park passerines around the front and back feeders at the visitor center. The Purple Finch, first found on 14Dec15 by a Boulder County CBC team, seems less shy and it was visiting the front feeders on a regular basis this a.m., posing nicely for Loch Kilpatrick and me. The FCRP trails are all snow covered and the lack of footprints indicate snowshoes or x-country skis might be the best way to explore beyond the visitor center.
