I found a Black Phoebe today foraging and calling along the Arkansas River near the Sell's Lake trailhead for the Canon City Riverwalk. I don't know if it has been further down the river trail since that has been, and still is, closed for repairs to the trail structure.
Yesterday I drove part of the way up the Bighorn Sheep Canyon that runs along H50 from Canon City to Salida where I found this adult Bald Eagle perched down at the edge of the Arkansas River. I got a series of 7 more photos of this eagle by the river, perched in a snag and flying that can be seen on on my Birds and Nature blog at http://birdsandnature.blogspot.com I also found an immature Bald Eagle near the adult, another adult Bald Eagle just outside of Westcliffe and an immature Golden Eagle right by the side of the road between Westcliffe and Wetmore. I only saw one Rough-legged Hawk in the Westcliffe area and only a few Red-tailed Hawks.
