This morning I explored the Poudre ponds west of 35th Ave and Poudre River
in Greeley, I did not see a swan, nor did I identify the gulls, but did
identify the following: hundreds of mallards, thousands of geese (mostly
cackling), flicker, ruddy duck, Am. Goldfinch, im. bald eagle, kingfishers,
redheads, common mergansers, hooded mergansers, bufflehead, common
goldeneye, coots, six pelicans, eared grebes, and 2 Ferr. hawks. From there
I went north to Seeley Lake and saw, in addition to some of the above, one
snow goose mixed in the the hordes of cackling geese and a few Canada geese.
