Late yesterday afternoon I took advantage of being in Pueblo for my water
planning meetings to look for the Yellow-throated Warbler reported as
recent as this week in Mineral Palace Park. I looked in the northwest part
of the park by 19th and Court where it had been reported as seen but did
not locate it there. So looked further south in the park and at 4:45 pm
heard one sing in the far southwest part of the park but in the center
section. I heard sing 3 times but by when I got to the tree where it was
singing it had flown west a few hundred feet and I heard it sing there.
Singing was infrequent so I left to do some other things. When I came back
around 6:30 pm I heard it sing a number of times high in the trees around
16th and Court. In total I heard it sing 9-10 bars of it's primary song
but never spotted it before I needed to leave.
