An adult male *Sharp-shinned Hawk* was hunting (unsuccessfully) in my yard yesterday afternoon, 8/13. This was only my second summer record in my home area; perhaps it was an early fall migrant.
*Western Tanagers* are among the very few migrants near home this morning. Adult male *Rufous *and *Calliope* Hummingbirds have been gone from my feeders for a week or so, but some adult male Broad-taileds remain. There are many female/imm. hummers to study!
