Hey COBirders,

It was my busiest banding day this season at Clear Spring Ranch, despite the
early winds, heat, and smoke. Very Dry right now.
Highlights were an ad Least Flycatcher, a juv Willow Flycatcher, an ad
Clay-Colored Sparrow, a late Yellow Warbler (I’ve only had 5 after this date in
5 seasons), a couple Wilson’s Warblers, Yellowthroats, and catbirds, and a pile
of Chipping Sparrows. 43 birds banded today.

Yellow Warblers are about done, like I said, I had a Lazuli Bunting juv f (only
5 after this date also), Lincoln’s Sparrows are starting to arrive in numbers,
and I had my first Gambell’s White-crowned Sparrow (juv) yesterday. Some birds
are finishing, some are just starting migration!

Have a good Labor Day,
Steve Brown
