Those not wanting to drive many miles in search of Lapland Longspurs on the
Colorado Plains will be glad to hear that there were three feeding calmly with
some 40 Horned Larks at the model airplane parking lot late yesterday
afternoon. Be aware however that these birds were seen first at the Highline
Canal parking lot along Roxborough Park Road. When flushed by vehicles entering
the parking area, they flew west to the model airplane area.

Be aware also that you cannot access the park from S. Wadsworth Blvd. due to
ongoing construction activities. You must enter via Titan Road and Roxborough
Park Road.
