Hey COBirders,

LOL - Yup SIX more Northern Waterthrush were banded at Clear Spring Ranch - one
Saturday, and 5 Sunday. That makes 13 for the season. Unbelievable.

It was a perfect morning for bird movement - high fog, Southeast breeze, cool
temp, and the banding reflected that. 24 birds were caught in the first hour,
and 58 total for the morning, of 24 species..

Highlights -
Black-chinned Hummingbird M,F, netted, but unbanded
Broad-tailed HB, F, same
Gray Catbird - 5
Virginia’s Warbler - (SY M)
MacGillivray’s Warbler - Ad M
Yellow Warbler - 5
Lincoln’s Sparrow - 5
Mountain White-crowned Sparrow
Green-tailed Towhee
FOS Bullock’s Orioles (Ad F, SY M)
Lazuli Bunting (SY M)
Clay-colored Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow - 12
Dusky Flycatcher
Hermit Thrush
Yellow-breasted Chat - 3 - SY M, 2 AD M

In addition I had a pair of Belted Kingfishers flyover, and just missed netting
a “spanking” male Indigo Bunting. Lots of same-species chasing , and lots of
Brown-headed Cowbirds following.

A pretty good morning!
