Hi everyone, I've just wrapped up the last week of banding at Connected
Lakes State Park in Grand Junction. As with last week, storms had an effect
on the amount of net hours I could get in, including Thursday which was
cancelled due to weather. I banded 50 birds of 12 species over the past 4
days, including 1 returning Spotted Towhee from 2017. The highlight of the
week was a Chestnut-sided Warbler, which I continuously caught
throughout the week! The following species account represents the effort of
157.5 net hours at this site.

White-crowned Sparrow (Gambel’s): 19

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 8

Wilson's Warbler: 5

Orange-crowned Warbler: 4

Townsend's Warbler: 3

Dark-eyed Junco (Pink-sided): 3

Hermit Thrush: 2

White-crowned Sparrow (Mountain): 2

Chestnut-sided Warbler: 1

Hammond's Flycatcher: 1

House Finch: 1

MacGillivray's Warbler: 1

Spotted Towhee - 1 return from 2017

Despite drought and storms, cold and heat, this station was still very
productive and an absolute blast to work at. Running this station would not
have been possible without the efforts of the volunteers of Grand Valley
Audubon and CPW, a sincere thanks to them!
