Hi all! Got some outside time this weekend by camping at Jackson Lake. The lake is pretty full of water. Lots of *pelicans*! Boat activity was heavy. Friday night, we heard two *eastern screech owls* trilling and four *great-horned owls* calling, all after midnight (north end of lakeside campground). Did not hear the screech owls Saturday night.
The best treat was five *long-billed curlews* foraging in and near the prairie dog colony to the north and west of the Fox Hills campground area. One flew right over our car! Also nice was a large flock of *snow geese*, a small flock of *sandhill cranes*, and a couple of *Bonaparte’s gulls*.
