Well migration remains slow but seems to be picking up just a bit. Today we
caught 14 birds of 10 species and it felt a bit more like spring, with
Bullock's Orioles chattering and warbler chip notes (other than the
Yellow-rumps!) coming from the trees. We had our first MacGillivray's
Warbler and Northern Waterthrush and also sighted (but did not band) a
Blackpoll Warbler. Here are our totals from today:

Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
House Wren - 2
Yellow-rumped 'Myrtle' Warbler - 1
Northern Waterthrush - 1
MacGillivray's Warbler - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 3
Hermit Thrush - 2
'Gambel's' White-crowned Sparrow - 1
Spotted Towhee - 1
American Robin - 1 recapture from 2019

We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. We'll also
be open Thurs May 20th. Chico Basin Ranch is once again open to the public
and visitors are welcome at the banding station, click here
<https://ranchlands.com/day-visits/birding-wildlife-viewing/> for more
details on visiting.
