Steve, Kathie, Janet, Sammy and Gordon Penley helped locate and identify birds. The trail was busy with bicyclists and hikers. Weather: Today was an eye-burner, sunny with zero cloud cover most of the day. A few clouds developed over the ridge and west of us late in the day, which helped us locate a few birds. Temperatures were very warm, and we had a moderate wind all day. Winds varied in direction but maintained an easterly component all day. Raptor Observations: Raptor movement was slow today. We located birds east, west and over the ridge, but there was no steady flow of migrants, just a trickle through the day. We experienced about three hours with no migrants. Non-raptor Observations: Mountain Chickadee, squirrel (maybe red squirrel) at observation. Predictions: Winds are predicted to be strong tomorrow.
