While not as exciting as the Laughing Gull out at the Arsenal, hearing the
distinctive call of a CASSIN'S FINCH this morning (Thurs., 13 Apr.'23) while
having coffee on our porch (Athmar Park neighborhood, SW Denver, Denver Co.)
was a nice surprise. Grabbed the binoculars and located a female type
Cassin's hanging out and calling in the top of a neighbor's maple tree.
Moral of this story is there are still a few of these guys down in the
lowlands, so keep both your ears and eyes open.

Good Birding,

Doug

Denver
