The "not working" part was that -in_place wasnt making the
changes to the files - they were reported to the screen as if
they had been patched, but doing git diff in another window
wasnt showing them.
It seems to be working fine for me. It both prints a patch to standard
output and makes changes in the files. When you have time, could you send
a small example that doesn't work?
