----------------------------------------------------------- From: J.K. Message 1 in Discussion Hi, Although I started hearing about Really Simple Syndication (RSS) months ago, I had until a couple of days back, refrained from looking into it. My logic for this was quite simple. On the Internet you never know which technology or protocol will really catch on. There have been far too many fancy protocols and standards that have claimed to be the next big one. Rather than waste my time, I decided to procrastinate for an year to see if the standard flourished or simply died out. Now an year was up and an RSS Feed was available even from Reuters, pricked my curiosity sufficiently for me to download and install a RSS Reader. I was simply blown away. Although websites are not going away anytime soon :-), Availability of RSS Feeds and capable readers enables one to skim through 100's of news, entertainment, blogs and articles to selectively read the ones you want. That in my opinion is something that does deliver true value for one's time. If you have not looked at RSS Feeds yet, I suggest that you do... This article gives a very good explanation of why RSS rocks... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1544705,00.asp Have a nice day, Jayakrishnan K. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/cochindotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
