hi,   u can do the way u have started. I feel its ok. regarding the dataset, do 
design the report with dataset say Ds1. Its the name i gave. now u may have 
many parametes from the screen and then u need the report to print.  here 
generate a dataset by the same name Ds1 dynamically at runtime and assign to 
the report using the .ReportSource property. the data printed would be from the 
dynamically build Ds1.   hope this helps u......!!!
