Hi,
SQL Server does not have built-in support for comparing two XML values and
determine if the content is equal. I have posted a tutorial that creates a TSQL
function to compare two XML values. You can find the tutorial here: XQuery
Lab 25 - Writing a TSQL Function to compare two XML values (Part 1) -
http://www.sqlserverandxml.com/2008/09/xquery-lab-25-writing-tsql-function-to.html
XQuery Lab 36 - Writing a TSQL Function to compare two XML values (Part 2) -
http://www.sqlserverandxml.com/2008/09/xquery-lab-36-writing-tsql-function-to.html

I had been writing a series of tutorials on XQuery. So far there are 37 posts
which explains many of the XQuery functions and usages in TSQL. You can find
the complete series here -
