I read where some people keep a blind dog,
but when I was a child and the dog was totally bling it would run
into everything and my dad put it to sleep.
As long as the dog is happy, getting around and doing well, dogs adjust much better than humans when they go blind, long as he/she is in familiar surroundings they will do well.  Our last dog which was a schnoodle was blind at the age of 11 and lived to be 14 just fine until other issues happened.  He did not stop him or slow him down.
