With us Tails are pretty much optional and folks can let me know their preferences before pups are a week old if they desire a docked tail. Normally we leave the nice tails - full ones that will be carried nicely and have good coat while we dock the skinny rat like ugly ones or tails that are kinked as that is not only aesthetically displeasing but can be a neurological pain for the dog.
