I realize what you say about the owner taking the place of other siblings in
the litter, but how does that work when you have two little boys? It seems
it is very difficult to keep two little boys tamed down so they don't want to
"nip" at your pant legs and socks. I tell them "NO" loudly but because they
are so wound up the behavior doesn't seem to stop. Sometimes they react to
me telling them "BE NICE BOYS" and they start licking each other instead of
biting at each other in a playful manner, but this only last a few minutes and
they are back at wrestling with each other again. They wrestle over chew
toys (stealing from each other) and I always have to get them separated in
opposite corners of the room ("stay" command) and feed them apart or they
steal
each others food.

First they are both adorable and what they are doing is perfectly normal,
litter mates play rough, not as rough as it looks, as long and no blood is
being
drawn, no one is yelping loudly its all play, you should hear my gang play,
sounds sometimes like they are killing each other, they are not. Puppies
have a LOT of energy. With my 4 when I give them a treat, they get 4 treats
the same thing to each of them, of course they want one of the other's one,
smells better? tastes better? again that is normal. At 17 weeks they should
be
getting the no bite but remember too they are starting to teethe, one thing
that works well with chewing is a frozen wet wash rag, its soothes their gums
and helps with the constant chewing.

My little boys are brothers, (Cody & Jake) and are just about 17 weeks. I
have been working with them on potty training and they get through the night
in separate kennels. Problem is that they do still have accidents when I let
them run around the room with child gates. I try to catch them before this
happens but I sometimes miss an accident. I only react when I catch them in
the act or right beforehand when i think they are about to do business on the
floor.

Remember at 17 weeks their bladders are just maturing to be able to hold it.
It seems you are learning their body language, I swear we are the ones
being trained! The accidents will become fewer and they will be going less
often. Mine all grown up go 3x a day, see something to look forward too! :)

Any suggestions for my two issues here?

David sounds like you have a great start with them and it will get much
better, just remember patience, love, being consistent and positive
reinforcement
and when they mature they will be the perfect pets for you and your family.
Keep us updated, cockapoos rule!
