Keep the hair trimmed if you can. I started cleaning with a disposable cotton
cosmetic pad that I soaked in warm water. Adding water to the eye helped to
loosen the discharge and hardened goop. Madison seems to accept this warm pad
over a whole wet face cloth.

Madison has been burying "bones" this summer. He is 16 months old and loves to
carry something in his mouth. This summer he has carried his rawhide chews
outside and takes time to decide where to leave it. He looks around to see if
anyone is watching, drops it on the ground, paws away the soil or leaves or
pine needles. After depositing the bone on the spot he noses the loose material
back over the bone. Generally, after we continue our morning walk, he returns
to the bone and repeats the process, burying it in a new location. In Maine he
often burys the chewy under pine needles. Any good suggestions for removing
pine pitch?

New photos updated today for Madison.
