One of the other lists I'm on is having a discussion of protein levels related
to kidney disease.  They have posted so new research showing that it is the
qualitiy of the protein rather then the percentage that causes a problem with
kidneys.  If anyone is interested, I can bring some of that over here.

For now, here is some info on the protein levels in various dog foods.

Wanted to share some great sites and website info on foods…
Varying levels of protein are found in many of the WPJ recommended foods.
These are some of what I carry and they are all in the WPJ recommended list. I
try to have enough of a difference between the foods to try and find what is
right for each pet…every dog has their own needs and as an owner you have
many choices. Great foods aren’t all high in protein..and the ones that are
aren
’t necessarily bad for many active dogs. I still think it’s more important
to feed your dog a food with healthy ingredients (whether grain free or not)
than bags of junk…just my humble opinion J

The Evo has 46% protein and is marketed as an alternative when feeding a raw
diet, which if feeding raw meat already has high protein. Dogs need to be
very active.
