Well rather proud of figuring this one out. Turns out that I wasn't being dumb and messing things up myself. Instead the NSTextView complete: popup menu behavior is different depending on if the app supports garbage collection or not. I'm assuming that there is a bug when garbage collection is on... the popup only shows for a few seconds until it gets collected. I'll report this to app, in the meantime does anyone know how to work around this problem?
