I was running into something similar this morning, and I traced it back to the fact that I had set the type of a variable to NSUInteger, and the return value, when I lloked up the class docs, was actually NSInteger Something like NSUInteger rowIndex = [tableView selectedRow]; and when I traced through using the debugger I found the mismatch. I don't know if you might be having the same problem, but you might take a quick look...
