If there is you can't discuss it here and if you find one, you can't put it in
an app you want to release in the store because Apple will find it and toss
your app out.
Even if this is for an Enterprise in-house app, I still wouldn't pull
this trick.
This does now beg the question of whether the current behavior is correct from
a usability standpoint. I would like the users of my app to make calls in the
same fashion as they compose email/send SMS. Something transient and 'internal'
to the app.
That API (I believe) does not exist, I suspect a lot of people will have
thought the same thing and filed bug reports asking for it because it does make
a lot of sense. File a bug with a persuasive use case and it may get
implemented.
What the heck. What's the worst that could happen???
