If this seems even remotely true, you're surely doing it wrong. Incidentally, IKImageView/NSImageVIew should handle this for you - if you change the image they are displaying, they will invalidate and update the relevant part of the window automatically. Again, if that's not happening, you're surely doing it wrong.

No it wasn't updating of the image that was the problem -- it was updating of some text boxes in the same window. But I have fixed that. I just needed an update method for the window. Now it looks very smooth, So now I will probably just go back to using the NSImageView. The IKImageView was an overkill for what I'm doing.
