I was testing on 10.6.8 but couldn't make the Clang + [NSPopover class] scheme 
work. In the end the NSClassFromString wins the race. Still I'd like to 
understand why the other scheme doesn't work if it's expected to. I guess I'll 
try that again tomorrow with fresh eyes.
