Hi, 

Have you tried:

[@"Ich möchte am Wettbewerb teilnehmen" 
stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];

Granted, this will also replace the ö with its percent escaped variant, which 
you probably want anyway.
