Hmm, my mail client has no problem with the attachement 
(I'm using KMail from KDE2 (Linux)).
But my colleague's Outlook (Win2000) embeds it in the message,
which is, I think, your problem, too. 

However, you can take it from the mail archiv on the web:

P.S.: Winzip should be able to extract .tgz files.
