But I have fixed this by reinstalling my tomcat engine....
its odd i know but its fixed now.

As long as I know you must use the standard for the name of parameters. In

CVS you must use something like this:

<map:parameter name="parameter_password"
value="{request-param:password}"/>
<map:redirect-to uri="welcome"/>
