upload xsp does reference the setting: File uploadDir = null; /** Contextualize this class */ public void contextualize(Context context) throws ContextException { uploadDir = (File) context.get(Constants.CONTEXT_UPLOAD_DIR); }
When cocoon starts up, it places the value of the upload-directory parameter from web.xml in the context, and it is used in various places, including upload.xsp. The only reason it's needed there is to show a directory listing. Cocoon by default is configured to automatically place any file(s) uploaded as a part of _any_ request in that directory. There are some additional configuration options available in 2.0.4 and 2.1dev So, the short answer is: change it in web.xml and that's all you need.
