calling pipline (from code)

I'd like to invoke a cocoon pipeline from another application thread in 
the same web application as cocoon. What's the prescribed way to do this?
I'd also like to use an aggregator up front that will take some output 
from my code and add it into the XML at the start of the pipeline. I 
suppose I could pass some data with parameters instead, but would rather 
be able to use the aggregator. Hmm, I could write a ParameterGenerator 
that generates a small amount of XML based on some parameters.
