mkmount error

I created a replicated volume, I made sure it was seen by
all the servers and the it was on the volume list, I ran
cfs mkmount /coda/software/JAVA software.JAVA
on the SCM just as I've done before, but when listing
I see
/coda/software/JAVA -> #software.JAVA
I tried repair and it says that there is nothing to be repaired.
What can I do to convert the link to a directory?
